A Picture of the word Transit

Medium Sized Review - Transit

The New Ford Custom Transit

The Ford Custom Transit has certainly changed over the years and now, 59 years after its first launch, it is a commercial van to truly consider if you haven’t already.

Being Britain’s all time bestselling van, this new version does not disappoint in its looks, its versatility, comfort and performance.

The 1st in the line to be launched is the 2.0 litre Diesel engine that is available in either 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic. This new Custom is 100kg lighter than the previous model with a slightly smaller 55 litre fuel tank and is aided with 13% better aerodynamics which will ensure great fuel economy. Added to this is a lighter platform and longer wheelbase, ready for the batteries on the electric model not launched at the time of publishing.

Added to the aerodynamics, the Ford Custom Transit’s clearance is better than its older model making it easy entry into carparks and limited hight restrictions.

This van has an improved 1.4 metre opening at the rear doors ensuring easy access, coupled with the improved lower floor for loading, makes day to day usage easier for its owner.

In summary, this Transit Custom van drives incredibly well and has a real car refinement to the cabin.

With multiple storage places for work equipment, coffee cups etc and upgraded upholstery and technology, you will not be disappointed.

The Van Source UK team have given this van a 9/10 for its place in medium size vans and one to definitely take a look at!
